Even though short hair had become some kind of fashion, still long, flowing hairs carry lot of envy. Smooth, silky hair is not a difficult proposition, if certain basic procedures are followed. The outer crust of the hair is known as cuticle. This cuticle is responsible for preventing moisture from entering the hair and causing frizzing. On the other hand, if the internal moisture leaves the hair, then the hair becomes dry and brittle. When the cuticle remains healthy, it reflects the light. Thus, shiny hair is provided only by a healthy cuticle. Protecting and nourishing the cuticle is, therefore, very important.

Never expose the hair to oils and shampoos that might contain harmful chemicals.
Natural oils like coconut oil, olive oil, etc. are very good for hair and they provide ample nourishment. Oils enhanced with chemicals should be avoided at any cost.

Shampoos should be selected carefully. Test small samples of various shampoo brands and types before finalising the right ones for you. Ascertain the type of hair that you have.

If you have oily hair, then you might use shampoos that have traces of alcohol. However, excessive alcohol content can do irrepressible harm to the hair. Lemon juice rinsing is a good treatment for oil hairs. If your hair is already a dry type, then egg shampoos are ideal.
